At the present time we are producing four organic beers:
The pilsner style originated in 1842 in the Pilsen region of Bohemia in what is now the Czech Republic and soon spread to become one of the most popular styles of beer around the world. Shortly after its introduction, Austria and Germany developed their own unique versions of Pilsner to serve the demands of their beer drinkers. Our Butte Creek Organic Pilsner is our American take on the German style of Pilsner.
Butte Creek Organic Pilsner is light, crisp, refreshing, and delicious, just like a pilsner should be. This pilsner was recognized as a Gold Medal Winner at the Great American Beer Festival. Brewed with organic Pale and Carapils malts, and Hallertau and Motueka hops - we use only the finest ingredients to make this easy drinking beer. To ensure that our Organic Pilsner is "Pilsner Perfect," we use a larger yeast to fashion that smooth, dry finish so characteristic of the pilsner style. Coming in at 4.5% ABV this satisfying Americanization of an old German style beer can be enjoyed both liberally and frequently!
Porter is a dark 18th century ale that originated in foggy London town and is descended from brown beer. The name "Porter" was the result of this beer style being a favorite among street and river porters at that time. Those hardy workers loved a strong, dark, robust ale which had a full body and crisp finish which was just the thing to give them a boost after a long day's work. We believe that the porters of yesteryear would love our porter beer just as much as the drinkers of today do. Butte Creek Organic Porter is brewed with organic Pale. Wheat, Caramel-120, and Chocolate malts along with Organic New Zealand Pacific Gem, Cascade, and Hallertau hops to produce the finest beer possible.
Butte Creek Organic Porter pours into the pint dark brown, almost black in color. Porters are honest ales, they taste like they look - Rich, dark and chocolaty, with not so subtle undertones of caramel and coffee. But unlike its dour dusky look, it flows through the mouth with a velvety smooth texture, and finishes with just a hint of hop crispness derived from traditional aroma hops. Coming in at 6.0% ABV, this is a powerful porter that can be enjoyed with bangers and mash, a hearty meal or even paired with a fine desert.
Organic Pale Ale
Butte Creek Organic Pale Ale is a light American Style Pale Ale. Like all Butte Creek beers, this is brewed with organic hops and malt to craft a beer that is pleasing to the taste buds and yet in harmony with the environment. Relatively mild for a pale ale, this beer has a well rounded flavor that lets the drinker savor both the delicious malt flavors and the generous hop freshness it exudes.
Butte Creek Organic Pale Ale is coppery golden in color with a frothy white head. The initial flavor feel that arrests the senses are a result of the lavish use of organic Pale, Caramel-60, Carapils, and Wheat malts that are used to provide that slightly bread flavor and give the beer its unique full body and creamy mouth feel. After experiencing the malt, one becomes aware of the robust hop presence brought about by the use of Organic New Zealand Pacific Gem, Cascade, and Hallertau hops.
While that may be enough for some it isn't for us! To create a crescendo of taste we dry hop once again with even more Organic Cascade hops to give this Organic Pale Ale its delightful fragrant aroma and the well balanced taste it is renowned for. At 5.5% ABV, this pale Ale is a delight that can be repeatedly relished.
Organic India Pale Ale
India Pale Ale was crafted in Burton, England in the late 18th century. Created strongly hopped so as to last the endless journey from England to the troops in India, the style soon became an unmitigated success with ale lovers everywhere. In the US, India Pale Ale has grown to become one of the most popular craft beer styles. Beer drinkers are captivated with this strong beer and its bold hop flavors. The rise of the popularity of IPS'a was in tandem with the organic movement. Our Butte Creek Organic India Pale Ale is a beer that is both delectable and environmentally respectful.
Deliciously hoppy, with an undercurrent of flavorful and provocative organic malts, Butte Creek Organic Pale Ale is sure to please hop lovers everywhere. We hand craft this IPA with the generous use of Organic New Zealand Pacific Gem and Cascade hops in the brew kettle, after which we dry hop the beer with Organic Cascade and Hallertaw hops to achieve that perfectly pleasant, piney aroma and floral, citrusy hop notes that make this IPA incredible. But beer is not only about hops, it is about balance. The powerful hop presence is equitably enhanced with our careful blending of Organic Pale, Caramel-60, and Wheat malts to provide a solid base and full bodied mouth feel. At 6.5% ABV this is the IPA enjoyed by lovers of hops, lovers of beer, and lovers of socially responsible organic products.
