"Organic" is defined as food or farming methods produced or involving production without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or other artificial agents. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) states that a product must be composed of at least 95% organic material to be labeled organic. Butte Creek beers are rigorously tested by the California Certified Organic Farmers organization (CCOF). The CCOF is a USDA accredited certifier which regularly inspects and ensures that Butte Creek Beer follows all of the rules necessary to meet all USDA organic standards.

Our aim at Butte Creek Brewery is to consistently produce excellent beers that are true to the organic revolution. In so doing we believe that we are encouraging the use of renewable resources, permaculture practices, and the preservation and enhancement of agriculture for future generations. We think of our product as being part of nature and we are proud of it's purity.
